The 128ti does not come with a ZF 8-speed transmission. It's a transversely mounted engine which doesn't make it viable with ZF 8hp. It's manufactured by Aisin.

The 128ti DOES NOT have the ZH8P gearbox. It is fitted with a torque converter supplied by AISIN. You can't expect to succeed here, if you don't prepare thoroughly and present the FACTS.

I’m not a fan of the new front wheel drive based 1 Series but I’d rather stretch for the M135i instead of this. It looks silly and lacks some things you’d expect from a BMW.

What's wrong with the suspension being a bit firm? It's meant to be a hot hatch that's how it's supposed to feel. GTIs are Jack's of all trades and masters of none which why people tune them so much. Convinced car journos complain for the sake of having a moan and splitting hairs complaining about firm rides on Sports variants isn't the hill to die on.
