Sea warning issued for Tropical Storm Choi-Wan

Tropical Storm Choi-Wan is southwest of Taiwan and is expected to make its closest approach on Friday. A sea warning was issued for the storm at 4 p.m. Thursday. The storm is expected to weaken as it moves in, but it could bring big swells in the seas southwest of Taiwan, the Hengchun Peninsula and the East Coast.

According to U.S. meteorological projections, Choi-Wan will reach Cape Eluanbi on Friday and sweep past Southern Taiwan on Saturday.
