Tropical Storm Lisa forms in central Caribbean Sea

Hurricane season rolls on with its next tropical system: Tropical Storm Lisa.

As of 11 a.m. Monday, Tropical Storm Lisa formed in the central Caribbean Sea, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC). The storm is expected to gradually strengthen over the next few days and is forecast to make landfall in Central America by midweek.

The tropical storm is about 175 miles south of Kingston, Jamaica, and is packing maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. It is moving west at 14 mph.

As of Monday morning, a tropical storm watch is in effect for Jamaica.
