Hope you’re having a great day! We’re turning the clock back today with an old favourite, some Hard Food (used in Jamaica to describe boiled starchy veg and boiled dumplings) which we paired with Curried Okra and an avocado.

Ingredients:
250g okra
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp minced ginger
1 tomato, sliced
2 sprigs thyme
1 can coconut milk
1/4 cup water (or veg broth)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tbsp ground pimento
2 tbsp curry powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tbsp all-purpose
1 scotch bonnet

Hard food:
1 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup water
4 green bananas
200g yellow or white yam
Water for boiling

Okra is starting to grow on me and I’m also looking forward to trying some of the ideas many of you have shared under our last post.
