X-Men Replace Apocalypse In Most Embarrassing Fashion

X-Men: Heir Of Apocalypse aims to replace one of the greatest villains in not only X-Men but Marvel history. Unfortunately, new Group Editor Tom Brevoort let Steve Foxe handle the job. Things end as embarrassing as fans could possibly imagine. Steve Foxe and Tom Brevoort chose a X-Men character who exemplifies exactly zero of the traits or motivations or presence as Apocalypse. Somehow this idea is worse than giving Echo the Phoenix force. Wes goes on an epic laugh rant about how stupid the new Apocalypse is and explains why Tom Brevoort owes Marvel money. X-Men replace Apocalypse in most embarrassing fashion.

This crap is why xmen disappeared off my radar decades ago, after age of apocalypse. It went from a well developed story (with a few hick-ups) to a sloppy 30 year parody.

You just can't make this shit up. It just keeps getting worse. 😔

There must be some challenge in Marvel Comics: 1 million for whoever gives divine power to the stupidest character.

2:29 Wes, why is Apocalypse introducing Gold Dust from the WWF?

_"...I don't know, maybe he's got friends in the industry?"_

Literally each and every single one of us, every time this happens.

To Hickman’s credit, he was trying to make a lot of dumb mutants work. Remember how he made GOLDBALLS one of the most important characters by make his goldballs into eggs for mutant resurrection

I did a quick google search to see if they did a story that removed the Phoenix Force from Echo, and it came up with Avengers Assembled Omega #1 by Jason Aaron. So I'm probably not gonna read it, but I have enough Jason Aaron already. It's a bit weird that they gave Echo the Phoenix Force to do nothing with it.

"Apocalypse" comes from the Greek for "Revelation" -- literally "uncovering" or "unrolling" (as with a scroll). That's the only interesting part of this.

It was pretty obvious Doug would be the one chosen just from the fact that he was included at all. It's the classic Sesame Street process of elimination. 'Which 1 is different from the other 4.' It also weirdly fits with Apocalypse's tendency to take the most pathetic mutants and upgrade their powers to make them horsemen.

Doug's marriage epitomizes everything wrong with how romance is written in comics these days. No depth, treated as a joke, rushed, no relationship drama whatsoever, and nothing worth caring about. It proved the problem is not limited to the LBGT romances.

These writers know nothing & care even less about these characters.

I kind of dropped off x-men apocalypse heir a long time ago mostly because well I didn’t really care about it in my opinion.

Marvel believes if they say something and the characters say something, it becomes true in both comics and the real world.

Marvel's writers can make their characters do what they want, but they cannot make us believe or care. They can (and do) get us to not buy.

😂😂😂😂😂 I thought Steve Fox's ideas had hit rock bottom last year. Now he had punched through the planet itself! 😅

As a fan of Douglas Ramsey as Warlock/Douglock, I have to say EFF THIS. His horsemen will probably be Soy, Based, Thirst and whatever stupid linggo the kids use these days.

After X-Men Green, I could absolutely have seen a genocidal Nature Girl going on a big crusade and murdering a couple million innocents as Neo-Apocalypse 😂

Cypher have all the qualities of being an Marvel villain, male, white, blond, ineffective and weak.

Poor Doug, poor Warlock, poor Nature Girl, poor Rockslide .. those kids can't get a break.
The era of X-comics I'll remember for praising villains, killing heroism, and ruining genuinely nice characters.

Damn they made Apocalypse go soft. I get the concept of maybe not killing weak mutants but not this pacifist Apocalypse wtf were they thinking.

so Apocalypse just wanted a mini-me all along, who knew?!

seriously, that design is just bad (small Apocalypse, but gold)
