Black Bean Brownies
Today I'm going to show you how to make high protein brownies without protein powder.
These black bean brownies are just as rich, fudgy, and delicious as regular brownies, but without all the sugar, fat and calories.
You can eat high protein brownies before or after your workout, or for dessert any time.

PROTEIN BROWNIES RECIPE
(makes 9 pieces)
Ingredients:
2 eggs
1/4 cup maple syrup (60ml)
2 tbsp peanut butter
1/4 cup milk (60ml)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup skyr (255g)
1 cup cooked black beans, mashed (170g)
1/2 cup ground oats or oat flour (50g)
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 cup cocoa powder (50g)
1/4 cup flaxseed meal (30g)
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
NUTRITIONAL INFO (per piece):
154 calories, fat 5.1g, carb 20.3g, protein 10.1g
Preparation:
In a bowl whisk together eggs, maple syrup, peanut butter, milk, vanilla, skyr and mashed black beans.
Sift in the dry ingredients: ground oats, cornstarch, cocoa powder, flaxseed meal, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
Gently fold in with a spatula, just until the batter is formed.
Pour the mixture in a lined 8x8 inch (20x20cm) square pan, smooth the top and shake the pan a bit.
Bake at 350F (180C) for 25 minutes.
Let it cool in a pan (for at least 2 hours) then slice into 9 or 12 equal pieces.
These brownies store really well in the fridge, for up to a week.
