I’ve learned more here than in high school and college combined

I absolutely, 1000% recommend the book called "Make it stick".

It goes in depth not only about the spacing effect, but also about retrieval practice, the generation effect, and many other incredible techniques for learning. It's an absolute must-read for anyone studying anything.

Psychology major here, this video is accurate. Learning in general requires time, your short-term memory can only hold so much information, the exact number is currently known to be 7 kinds of words, terms or ideas with a deviation of 2. You can use chunking and other tactics to allow for your short-term memory to hold more information, but it will eventually either disappear from your thoughts, or it will be encoded into your long-term memory through the spacing effect or REM sleep, which is the primary way we as human learns. Do keep in mind that everyone is different and outlier exists within statistics. Good luck learning!

I think that the most important part to learning is motivation and wanting to learn. Like I didnt learn anything in school, but I learned everything in this video because I was curious and i wanted to know and learn about it.

Dammit, Marc!
What is it with you and the all-precise shot at my current issue?!

This is exactly why I am subbed to you, thank you for being curious enough to find such stuff that aren't directly related to the medium but are helpful to it. No wonder you are really good.

That example with the painters’ styles and changing between the fast and the slow flashing of the images was one of the best visual examples I’ve seen in a ‘how-to’ video and even better than most college lectures I’ve attended. It demonstrates the experiment by making us go through nearly the exact same test and I immediately noticed the difference in recognition for each design when they slowed down. That moment definitely earned my like.

Can't lie that i'm here mostly to get entertained by Marc-sensei's explosive intros, but you're undeniably a big help in my digital art studying progress!

This is why it takes time to get good. Be patient with yourself. I'm a mix engineer and it took me multiple years to get to where I felt confident enough to put my stuff out there.
