What SpaceX just did with Starship Nosecone is unbelievable and unlike no one...
Huge thanks to:
=========
If you’ve been following Starship from the very beginning, you will know that its nosecone has been now changed very differently from the original.
The first Starship nosecone looked incredibly rough and scabrous, not like something that could ever survive a journey into space.
The nosecone that SpaceX produces now looks much becoming more and more refined and well-looked with smoother metal walls. The layout is also much tighter.
So how did Starship nosecone go from looking like this to this in just a few years?
What SpaceX has done with Starship Nosecone is completely unbelievable and unlike no one.
Find out everything about this in today's episode of Alpha Tech:

The nose cone is considered one of the most essential parts of an orbital rocket!
Basically, a nose cone is known as the conically shaped forward-most section of a rocket. It is designed to modulate oncoming airflow behaviors and minimize aerodynamic drag.
The first point that meets the air is the nose cone at the front end of the rocket. The amount of air resistance that opposes a rocket's motion depends mainly on the nose cone's shape, the rocket's diameter, and the rocket's speed.
Elon Musk, therefore, focused a lot of resources on perfecting the Starship nose cone.

Firstly, the most obvious thing that any of us can notice is that the Starship Nose cones exterior is much smoother.

This is related to the welding technique.
In the past, SpaceX would first produce a series of thin, stamped sheets (gores) of steel. Once aligned on custom-built jigs, each of those gores would be welded together to form a slightly conical ring. Five total ‘rings’ would be assembled, each narrower and more conical than the last. The five sections would then be stacked one by one and welded together along their circumferences.

The click-bait headlines are annoying and reduce your credibility. They didn't "just" do anything, in the timeframe of most SpaceX watchers. Remove that one word and the headline more accurately reflects your video - a rather circumspect look at Starship evolution, not breaking news that sites such as WAI and NSF announce. Going forward I'm going to take your channel with a big grain of salt as I scroll through my feeds.

There's not much news in this video.
Starships nosecone is made of less segments. And the upper flaps, lean a little more backwards (we knew already)
The heatshield tiles are improved that was necessary, however the nosecone tiles are custom made (not handy for mass production)
These leave some unanswered questions for me.
The issue with a 33 raptor test needs to be resolved, because the concrete scatters out of the pad. I hope they will try to pave the concrete with metal that's water cooled. That's the only solution I can think of would work.
Secondly the issue about the environmental state legislation in Florida. That's an issue as well and no news about that either.

Thx for new content. Heat tile problem must be solved.

Just curious - I am sure it got explored already - modern sport drones can accelerate like crazy, other drones fly for even 40 minutes. What makes it unviable to build huge hectacopter or octacopter with huge power batteries that would lift the rocket until the atmosphere gets to thin. The drone would then detach and come back to the ground to recharge. The rocket would continue using traditional rocket system. All the lift and acceleration provided by the dron ewould mean less fuel needed for the rocket (more cargo space or more fuel for manuevering in space). Hmm?

I can't wait to see what's up with the modifications they're making under the OLM and how effective they turn out to be

Three super billionaires took turns being the world's richest man. After amassing their fortunes one of them was a true visionary. He paid scientists, engineers, and skilled workers to build a premier rocket company that has advanced mankind. He spent money and got a return on his investment that the entire world enjoys. The other two were small minded thinkers that knew how to make money, but had no idea how to spend it. They fell into the trap of trying to ease their guilty conscience by giving away their fortunes to poor, uneducated, non productive people. The only return that they got was more poor, uneducated, non productive people. They did nothing to advance mankind. You decide who they are.

We all forget that every starship and booster is a prototype, until its first successful flight

Why cant the heat shield tiles be 3-d printed in larger pieces? allowing less fragiltiy in the attachment proces....

Shame you're resorting to clickbait titles.

It's really funny where there YouTube "experts" get their info.
Musk talked about the nose cone saying it's shape had very little to do it's aerodynamics, as the blunt one performed as well if not better than the pointy one. Musk cited a scene from the movie The Dictator, "The missile is too round, it needs to be pointy!" . The guy is not only smart, he has a wicked sense of humor

Each of the two upper flaps should comprise two laminated flaps that have the ability to flare open upon reentry to help slow the ship. They should open into a "V" shaped fletching; and have heat shielding. Further the Starship should have its own landing framus that comprises a very tall scaffold. it should be about 900 meters tall; have four sides; and, be slightly funnel shaped. Snap closed lassos or snares should be disposed near the top, at a slight downward angle. The snares comprise a nylon band and are anchored to a pipe that can wind in the snare when signaled Sensers will signal when to release the loop ends of the snare. This will allow for gently capturing the ship even if off center when it lands. A graphic sketch is shown on my "community tab" channel.

It will be interesting to see how the tiles and the SS work. Imagine if they could ditch the heat tiles?

It's 'unlike nothing else' ? Translation: this amazing nose cone is actually just like everything else...
