Southern Pecan Pie

My boys said that this was the best Pecan Pie they had ever had!!

Pecan Pie

1 cup chopped pecans
1 c white sugar
1 1/2 Tbls Brown Sugar
1/2 c corn syrup
1/2 c dark syrup (karo)
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 c melted butter
3 eggs
1/2 tsp self rising flour
1 pie crust

put pecans in the pie crust. mix all other ingredients and pour over pecans and bake.

bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes

I could never figure out why I didn’t like other pecan pies outside our family gatherings until I asked for the recipe… my mom and her family always did half dark half light corn syrup. Truly believe it makes a world of difference

I LOVE pecan pie and I am sooo excited to try your recipe. My husband always liked the crust a little browner, so that first pie would have been his choice. He would have milk with his and I would have coffee. Isaac is absolutely adorable and I love that he loves his mama's pie. ❤

Love pecan pie, especially with some chocolate melted in with the butter. Like Coke to drink with my pie and whipped cream on top of my pie. Chocolate pecan pie with whipped cream and Coke to drink spells heaven for me. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Pecan pie is my absolute favorite! I usually make mine with light corn syrup, but I think I'll try mixing the light and dark the way you did and see how different it tastes! As far as coffee or milk, just put milk in your coffee and you've got the best of both worlds! LOL (I like both, but I really like a good cup of strong coffee with my dessert).
