The best part is that he's not even groundbreakingly good at it or anything, it's just the fact that tourists are dumb and the townspeople's minds are canonically all messed up because of the Society of the Blind Eye's influence w/the memory ray. With that being said though, I will give Stan the credit he deserves for successfully scamming an ageless, all-knowing dream demon of pure chaos, that definitely takes some serious skill.

Edit: I've could be wrong, but knowing Stan, he perhaps faked his own imprisoned or even fake his own memories to believe he was in prison before. He could be in prison before and escape his way out by making people think he was in prison or he lied and never been in prison before at all, idk 🤷🏾‍♂️
