Hi, I'm Jeremy Vassar. I've been painting homes for over 20 years, and I want to help you with your painting projects. My brother Josh and I work together to make painting easy for DIYers and homeowners like you.

I've painted everything—from small rooms to entire houses—and I've tested tons of different products. On this channel, I'll show you all my tips, tricks, and honest reviews.

I know anyone can say anything online, so here’s my story to help you see what I can do.

Jeremy Vassar's Painting Journey
Age 15-21: I started painting schools in the summers with my brother Josh. This is where I learned the basics.
Age 21: I graduated from Temple University and started painting full-time with Josh.
Age 21-27: I worked up to 60 hours a week, painting high-end homes and a large retirement community—up to 60 units a year.
Age 24: Josh and I became co-owners of Handyworks Painting LLC, making our painting business official.
Age 24 (also): We started working with Danken, a company that does kitchens and baths. We still work with them today.
Age 25: We began working with Gemmi Construction, a high-end company. We still work with them too.
Age 28: I learned how to stain wood like newel posts, handrails, and steps
Age 28-38: I kept getting better, learned to work faster, and delivered even better results. We were also able to charge more for our work because of the quality.
Age 34: I started this YouTube channel to help DIYers and homeowners with painting projects.
Age 38: I launched "Paint Your Home Now," a community to help people paint their homes quickly and easily.

How many rooms I've painted (Best Guesses):
Bedrooms: 2,000+
Bathrooms: 1,000+
Kitchens: 300+
Exteriors (partial and complete): 300+
Family Rooms, Living Rooms, Foyers, Hallways: 2,000+
Closets: 3,000+
Wallpaper Removed from Rooms: 100+

I hope I can help you make your home look amazing with paint!

If you're doing production based work like with new houses for a builder/developer, I highly recommend the 18" with that frame because getting so close to the cut in is less important than still getting a good job done as timely as possible while expending as little energy and causing as little fatigue as possible.

I was the best wall roller of my crew and I could roll a whole room with one of these and get high quality finish almost as fast as someone could airless spray it. 👍

For anything else though, I don't think it really matters a whole lot and I would probably go for the one sided form myself for those extra close cut ins.

Love you man. GREAT videos. Such a nice alternative to the Idaho painter.

I’m a big fan of the colossus stroller covers from sherwin. Holds a lot of paint, distributes it very well, pretty easy to clean. Wouldn’t use them on like a rough surface exterior or popcorn ceiling but anything else I always use them

Great Advice. I'm going to try the 14" roller on my basement remodel.

Great video. Will try 1/2” cover (typically I have used 3/8”). Looking fit and trim for summer!

Hello Mr. Jeremy - First your advice has been priceless. We love your videos and your clear cut explanations and your sense of humor makes them fun to watch. Quick questions, our son has a popcorn ceiling in the kitchen and we could not find a roller you recommended for that and he has steel exterior doors on the home, just to confirm from an earlier video would we use a 1/4 roller roller on the flat panels? Thanks so much, God Bless and have a great day. Roseann

Great tips! I've never used a roller cover that didn't shed 😅 definitely going to look out for woven ones on my next project.

Nice video brother. I like the 14 inch roller better that 18 inch roller. 14 inch rollers are easier to clean the roller spinner cleaner.

You guys are awesome. Excellent videos. On the purdy roller covers. Have you tried the marathon nylon/poly? If so what are the benefits of the woven rollers in your experience. I switched to the 14" roller frame after watching your video a year ago. I never looked back. So much better.

I just bought several of the 3/8" nap 9" Pro Doo-Z FTP rollers. The plan was to paint my garage with them and see how they do. Hopefully I am not conpletely wasting my time by not going with 1/2" :(

Ace Hardware here in MN carries the FTP branded rollers... for anyone here in my neck of the woods and maybe stumbling upon this.

Do you like using the ftp roller cover on sherwin williams latex satin emerald and latex satin duration. Do you find the woven rollers work better than the nylon poly. I don't have a Benny moore store in my town so I typically utilize the purdy white dove (woven) or the marathon, (nylon/poly). So if you had to use purdy rollers which one would you use.
Thanks
Dennis

Hello I Loveeee your channel. This video you recommend a 1/4 nap for doors. A previous video you also recommend 3/8 nap (which I used) but our local hardware store has 1/2 nap for smooth surfaces. Now I'm confused again 😂. Can you explain the difference? One of your video you posted a chart showing 1/4 nap for smooth up to 1/2 nap rough surfaces which is very helpful. Thanks in advance for your response.

Great video I really learn a lot from these. Have you tried microfiber? They seem to have less lint than the woven.

Great video! For our project we have a lot of fresh drywall that is going to get a PVA coat first. Would you still recommend the 3/8" Pro-Doo Z for that as well?

Question: priming flat, smooth walls for lime paint wash... foam roller or one of these for the flattest texture possible? I believe the primer is acrylic based. Thanks!

I've gotten numerous uses out of the home depot "best" purple roller covers with no shedding. When do you start seeing the shedding?

Thank you for the video! Can I use the 1/2 nap pro doo z ftp for stucco? Or do I need to get the 3/4 nap?
