DaVinci Resolve 18 New Features

DaVinci Resolve has had a major new release - Version 18 ! Over the next few weeks I'm going in-depth on many of these new features. I'll also be at NAB to bring you a more detailed look at these great new features.

Resolve 18 already! That went quickly. Have fun at NAB Darren. Remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas - unless it concerns Resolve, then your subscribers ‘need’ to know.

Really excited to get into these new features, especially the AI depth map. That's SUCH a brilliant idea! I hope that in the future we'll be able to assign a keyboard shortcut to toggling between proxies/lower resolution timeline and original footage. I would love that. I'm such a huge fan of Davinci. They get it!

Hi. I am having trouble saving fusion effect macros in Resolve 18, and being able to access them. Any thoughts? Could you show us how to save a macro and access it in Resolve 18 Please...? 🙂 Other than that, keep up the great work. You have taught me a lot.

I'm still using media encoder to proxy my files only due to the fact I can add an image overlay to know for sure if proxies are this new proxy workflow have that option?

You say at around 0:50 that there is a separate app - proxy generator. Is this a separate download or built in? as I cannot see it anywhere in the install... TIA, John

One question, isent it best to use non compressed proxy files to lighten the edits that h264?

I wish they would bring out a spellcheck and also allow copy and paste from programs outside of Davinci if possible.
