"We've mutually decided to fake date but oops we like each other" is one of my favorite tropes. Usually I don't like rom-coms but this is my EXACT flavor of cheesy.

Can I just say how glad I am that her Indian outfits are cute and on trend, none of that ugly outdated stuff with outrageous colours that you find in most American movies

Why so much hate? It’s a rom com; there’s only so many ways the plot can go and that’s the point. If you want something more original or “less stereotypical” watch a different genre. Personally I love a cute rom com especially one with POC. Can’t wait to watch!

Indian + romance + fake dating trope = my new comfort movie! I’m so ready for this! FINALLY a character that isn’t always complaining about being Indian 🙄 but she’s embracing it and the story revolves around her exciting life AND a cute boy!

There’s nothing bad in seeing a movie with a similar plot; as long as it’s good and people love it. Anyway, I would gladly watch this one because its already makes me feel goofy and what’s not to watch in an Indian rom-com 🤭😁?

This was wonderful! I watched this 5x in the last few days! Bonus points for the beautiful chemistry between her and Ravi, her beautiful sarees, her supportive Jamaican boss and the cute dance number at the end!!! 🇯🇲

Loved the movie. People who are complaining that this is a sterotypical movie need to first understand the meaning of what stereotype is. Sterotype is something that used to happen but doesn't happen anymore, yet the world still assumes that it exists. Whatever is shown in this movie does still take place in reality in India. We still have arranged marriages. We, especially parents, still care about what society thinks, marriage is still a big deal in our country, people do lie in their biodata for marriage, parents still expect education and job as top priority for marriage, intercaste and inter-religion marriages are still frowned upon, etc, etc. So please tell me what is sterotypical in this when these things still happen on a daily basis.

This looks stereotypical AF and doesn't represent 90% of Indians at all. Can't we have one brown love story in Western media where it doesn't have arranged marriage being the basis of it??? That being said, I'm gonna watch it and see what happens, maybe it might surprise me

I love the increasing Indian representation with Bridgerton, Never Have I Ever, and now Wedding Season. I love to see it

A mom saying "Chuup!" is the ultimate end of argument.
Because if you don't stop at the Chuupp, she's gonna bring out the Chappal.

Oh see my 1st thought wasn't that it was stereotypical. My 1st thought was it made me smile & couldn't wait to watch it. That may have been the wrong 1st thought. But I'm having a REALLY baadddd day & it was the 1st thing that made me smile.

This is a typical plot but I'm going to watch anyway. I love relaxing to romantic comedy 🤷🏽‍♀️
