I love how his point is just "don't be a moron"

I agree with Galileo... The same God that gave us intellect expects us to use it.

That is most articulate way I have ever heard this question expressed and answered in my entire life.

Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.

John-Paul II famously said, "If you perceive a conflict between your faith and science, you misperceive either your faith or science."

My dad is one of the most devout Christians I’ve ever met, but he’s also a Nuclear Physicist. They don’t have to be exclusive, modern science was started by people like Thomas Aquinas.

The simple answer is, if your beliefs make you an idiot then yes.

As a religious and scientific person, I don't see a way that I could be forced to choose. For me, science and religion feed into each other. As I learn more about the world, my love and awe of God just gets bigger, and the more I learn to love God, the more I want to know about his creation. From my perspective, there isn't even the option of a choice. Religion and science are two sides of the same coin.

I was 13 when I went to a local church on a Friday night with some of my "bad friends" because we wanted to go check out girls. There was a guest speaker that day from Israel, and he started walking around praying for people. When he came up to me, I tried to act tough by not saying "don't touch me". He put his hands on my head and prayed on anyway. The next thing I remember I woke up to all the youth group surrounding me. They told me I foamed in my mouth and they had to hold me down. The guest speaker told me I had 6 demons inside me. My "bad friends" were sitting far away from me looking at me like a deer in headlights. After that we went out and had a cigarette. I didn't feel nothing special that day or anything but 20 years later, I started going to church and now I feel the presence of God that day. Can't explain it.

One of the greatest ways I have ever heard was stated: "Science is man's way of finding out how God did it. We as children are simply putting the pieces together of how our Father accomplished his feats."

Like he said, "It's not the devil....it's epilepsy".

The reason for why many people don't believe in God is because of His absence.
No matter what a book or someone's claim says.
Since I did not experienced God, I cannot be sure of His existence because no one saw Him.
Nobody saw God, onlt pretend to started a relationship with Him, and even that can be in their head.

I like that response :) It was diplomatic and respectful.

Religion is not here to explain science. It's a way of life.

As a Christian myself I've never understood the god vs evolution battle here we have a being that is literally all powerful he can control everything he sees everything he is everywhere however many people believe that giving his creatures the power to change over time is beyond him for some reason

"that could make conflict"
Its easy to understand that he's saying that just so that no religious people are offended. He ould have easily said that "it creates conflict all the time"

That actually makes a ton of sense lol it's one of those things where you really can't deny it because he's absolutely right

As a Christian, Science lines up perfectly in my view.

I’m not much a religious guy myself, nor bothered by anyone’s heart’s desire to practice it. I always thought about, “On the seventh day god rested.” How long are those days really? For a God, that could be 100 million years a day. 700 million years, or 200 million for the first 1.4 billion years, by then the 7th day god rests as his creation of nature grows naturally. Does that sound rational? It’s a thought I’ve had for a long time, probably all my life.
