Wow...can just imagine the amount of vibration being created with the mirror slapping back and forth so fast!

As a photographer for many years I seldom use the 10fps function on my Mark III. Will be interesting to see the high ISO image quality + tonality on this camera to justify the huge price leap. Back in 2007 when the Mark III came out, everything ( including the Digic III processers ) were brand new and cutting edge technology. It wasnt cheap at £2, 999 but with the 1DX at £5, 300 I cant help wondering what justifies the huge cost. Looking forward to trying one out in a couple of months !

Not THAT small, during regular shooting it would be enough... of course, let's not forget 1D X is a higher-end pro camera and A77 is a semi-pro/advanced one, so it will have smaller buffer, but better use in action because of fps+AF+viewfinder... (let's wait and see what the future full-frame Sony pro model will bring). So far, we can never have it all, damn it... no perfect camera. or brand that can let you customize your features ;))

How come everyone is only showing the 12 fps clips and not any of the 14 fps clips? When you see the mirror flipping you know its top speed will be 12 fps, the 14 fps is only on jpeg and with mirror locked up. Just was wondering!

Mirror black out, yes, what about the mirror blocked in up position for the entire time the shutter is pressed? Try to photograph then, sports or action...
And I keep saying, LET'S NOT FORGET THAT CANON IS A PRO DSLR AND SONY IS A SEMI-PRO/ADVANCED DSLT! Of course it's going to win! For the price that Canon has, it better win!

:-) You obviously don't know what you are talking about. The mirror blackout DOES matter, especially if you shoot a night time event. I don't know how blinded you are by the brand, but the viewfinder getting sacrificed is not great. And did you even try an A77 viewfinder, updated with the latest firmware? What lag...?

Why compare the two cameras when one of which is probably gonna be 7k CAD~

Mirror blackout doesnt really matter, professional shooters are used to it already. Other than that Canon wins in all other areas.
