LOST PALMS OASIS TRAIL JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK

Back in December of 2018, I took a trip to Joshua Tree National Park. This was before the government shutdown happened. I did a roughly 9 miles strenuous hike to Mastodon Peak and Lost Palms Oasis. This is a beautiful trail with lots of cool rock formations along the way. At Mastodon Peak, there is an old abandoned mine there. It's was a long walk through the desert until I reached the Lost Palms Oasis. When I finally got there, it was really an amazing sight to see a huge canyon full of many, many palm trees. It was such a cool place to visit and totally worth the long hike to get there. This is my vlog of this amazing adventure!

That was a very nice video, Eric! People often trash Joshua Tree, but I have always enjoyed it there. As you video showed, it is a beautiful place. Video looked crisp and colorful. You still using a GoPro?

Definitely looks chilly at the beginning of your hike. LOL for the mistletoe! The rocks is what surprised me the most when we visited last year. Great music! Clever choice not to scramble up there on your own Eric. These plants are called Ocotillo ( I know this thanks to Little Man's Junior Ranger book!) They are also in Tucson. They get flowers I believe. We didn't do this hike because it was too long with the little one. Looks awesome!

I always find your videos so inspiring. Makes me want to pack the car up and go! Love the palm trees at the end. It was worth the hike out there, that's for sure!

Awesome video sir! Glad you were able to get back out there and hit up some of those trails you missed previously! Always stinks to show up at a place and have different attractions or areas closed off haha. Smart not doing the rock scrambling on your own. Probably be ok, but whenever you think that is when something bad happens haha. Thanks for sharing sir, have a great week!- Shane

It’s really beautiful out there. Looks like water might be tough to get. The trail looks like a lot of fun to backpack. Great job on the video

Great video Eric. Color and clarity of your video was great. Long hike though and it looked like there was no one around. Gets a little spooky when you are that far out in a desert.

another good hiking video and yes was wise not to go climbing by yourself

Great hike, How do they mark the trails? In the NE they make cairns I don't think that would work with all the piles of stone around naturally.
