Joshua Tree National Park - Lost Palm Oasis Hike

The Lost Palm Oasis Trail is approximately 8 miles round trip in Joshua Tree National Park. It starts at Cottonwood Oasis and ends in the middle of the desert and a TON of palm trees!

This desert hike ends in an oasis and has lots of blooming cactus on the trail, my favorite was the red orb with the yellow blossom. This is an awesome nomad travel location as there is plenty of free BLM land just south of the park about a 10 minute drive from the trailhead.

Gorgeous!!¡! My mother grew cacti. Hers had beautiful blooms outdoors in Indiana at Christmas!

Oh, Gorgeous! You gotta watch out for the Cholla/jumping cactus Nate! That's some nasty stuff. It's always good to have suede work gloves, a big tooth comb, tweezers and hot water handy when trying to extract it from your body. Speaking from experience. I believe the orb cactus with the yellow flower is a type of barrel cactus. Do you run a generator to keep the AC running for your fur children while you are out hiking? Just curious. 🤔
