The sad part is it looks like they were almost going to make it. Just too fast and no control. It’s amazing they even made it to an airport.

My father was one of the passengers of the plane. He survived with only fractured arm.

These guys are heroes, full stop. This landing was not supposed to be possible. For there to be more survivors than victims was not a miracle - it was a testament to the skill and determination of the four absolute badasses in that cockpit. Put Captain Haynes and crew right up there with Sully, Captain Pearson’s Gimli Glider, and Captain Takahama’s JAL Flight 123.

Ah, United 232. That was a tragic aviation accident that happened back in 1989. The flight was en route from Denver to Chicago when it experienced a catastrophic engine failure, which caused the plane to lose all of its hydraulic systems. The pilots did an incredible job trying to control the plane with what little they had left, but unfortunately, they weren't able to land safely. Despite the high number of casualties, there were also many survivors, which is a testament to the skill and bravery of the crew and passengers on board.
