It's a good strategy for before he moved in with her he needed her to sign some sort of agreement ( co habitation) to protect himself. under many jurisdictions living with a partner would be considered common law marriage

Wouldn't surprise me if he had some bizarre superstition about marrying her. He tends to take his idiosyncrasies/superstitions to extremes. Great athlete, but a weird fella. 😂😂
