Why do you really need a function Generator: 3:09

Thank you for this concise video!

I ended up with a brand new in box BK Precision 4010A Function Generator for $20.

As an electronics hobbyist, primarily focused on music/audio, I was left wondering what I could use it for.

This was the first video I found that was helpful in getting me thinking and brainstorming.

Well done but I have to admit, I can't find anyone using one of these beyond direct connect to a scope. I'm of the belief these are only used for eye catching scope backgrounds on videos. Does anyone have a PRACTICAL application?

I'm still entirely confused about whether I need one... It seems like "it's complicated" was a entirely reasonable answer if "when you know, you know" is considered a valid answer? A weird advert with an entirely misleading title and I feel I just wanted 2 1/2 minutes of my life (all hail double speed playback)
