I feel that way about my surface pro 7 plus!!! It's incredible! I'll NEVER go back to just having a laptop or desktop. The versatility is amazing, it's light weight and can be used as either a stand alone tablet or a laptop with backlit keys! Incredible! I'm partial to having both USB A and USB C ports which was in the end my deciding factor when wanting that model specifically! You also can't bet the multi day battery life. And I use mine regularly for editing videos, writing papers, researching and taking notes!

"...but think about it, the SP8 is a its a laptop that you can setup like a workstation PC." why I have been an MS SP customer for the last 5+ yrs.

Brett, your introduction of S pro 8 is just perfect and gave me all the answers I had, since I was thinking about an upgrade.
I have S pro 6. It’s the best PC I ever had and used so far.
As great as the new 8 sounds and looks like, I still feel I can wait for couple of more new versions later to upgrade 😉

Great breakdown. I was thinking about shelfing my Pro X and getting a Pro 8, but I've adapted my workflow so well for Windows on ARM, I think I'll stick with the X for now

I am MADLY in love with my Surface Pro 8! Thank you for the tips today. I also am a pen user!!! Was using the older one and Best Buy had a bundle savings so I bought the slim pen 2!!! You really explained to me why my battery didn't just last all day like my Ipad Pro. This is a true, beast of a computer & it needs power. I also followed along and removed the couple apps from adobe that ate battery. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I've upgraded from SP3 to 8 and just in that awkward time of waiting for it to arrive. The lack of SDCard was a bumma but that made me switch from 256 to 512 SSD from the getgo. I'm really looking forward to trying my hand at using the new pen. It was never thing for me because of the lag and my writing skills are as good a doctors, sometimes I can't even read my own writing. That I hope with the pen and persistence will improve back to a legible scribe. I've had a desire to try my hand at digital art so this will be the time to giving this a real shot in the arm.
My Surface Pro 3 hasn't skipped a beat (went through a few keyboards), but I'm still using daily with no regrets and it was only an i5. With an i7 and 16Gb RAM in my SP8 I cannot wait to experience the difference. I was also pushed the Windows 11 Alpha on my SP3 and it's been very solid and again looking forward to Windows 11 Gold on the SP8. Now it's just got to ARRIVE (supposedly Nov 3)

Great video. The returning fan for the i3 and i5 and the ability to draw higher power, coupled with the 11th gen processors, is a big deal for people with my use case (people who need some decent power when docked, but need a long-lasting tablet on the go). I doubt TB will be of any value to me but the screen and pen enhancements look promising. I'll be waiting another generation, but the future looks bright for the Surface Pro line.

Surface Pro 8 finally look like a worthy upgrade of my Surface Pro 3 🎉🎉.

I have been waiting patiently for a updated design. I never found it worth upgrading since the design was merely the same. The surface pro 3 even got windows 11 and runs so smooth. So I look forward to the larger screen with faster refresh rate and usb type C ports.

Windows 11 is wonderful and it allows my surface to do everything I had been wishing it did. I’m glad they finally fixed the snap feature to recognize when I want to use my surface vertically.

The improved fan is awesome. I can now dual screen for hours and my surface won’t get burning hot anymore

I really like the surface pro 8 design. I am still excited about my surface pro 6 and it's still doing its job, but I'll order the Surface Pro 8 as soon as it's available again in the 1TB version.

Good summary that isn't a stupid comparison with the iPad. I think I will replace my pro x with one of these. I really need to confirm the battery claims are legit. I was in a day long meeting today and wrote notes on the x and didn't worry at all about battery.

I have always loved being able to switch from an English keyboard to a French keyboard. Which I feel is a unique advantage of the Surface Pro line. I have the SP3 but I am seriously thinking of finally upgrading to the SP7 now that the 8 has brought down prices. I would go SP8 but I don't wish to repurchase the keyboards at $229 CDN each (ouch).

Thank you for explaining the USB adapter, as no other reviewers mentioned it.

Mine comes in today and I've never had a 2 in 1 computer. This is for my photography editing and busy mom/wife/work life. <3 Thank you
