I'm from Hungary, and now I'm stunned. Do people in other countries sit on benches outside when it's cold? Really? O.O How strange. :)
So true, we always warn each other not to sit on cold surfaces, but I've never thought it's a cultural thing. ^_^

Hungarian language is a tough one but the same time incredible. I mean it's hard to deal with the grammar, even Hungarians get confused some times, but once you master it, it can be so beautifully effective in communication, preceise in descriptions and meaningfull in it's wealth of words.

No wonder Hungarians are smart.
Among the invention of fire, using tools and other great things in evolution, verbal communication was one developing the human brain much. Verbal communication -language- is the most effective and thus mostly used way to communicate.
Languages are code systems which people learn at their early age. Languages are deeply rooted in the mind. So deep they preset the mind, what the mind comprehend and how it relate to things.
Having a more complex language indicates more brain activity. :)

A few years back I worked in a summer camp in Wisconsin and I was shocked that the kids were given water pitchers full of ice along with their meals. We would never do that in Hungary.
The nose blowing thing is very weird for me. It's very rude to sniff in Hungary. I thought the norm is you blow your nose whenever you need it :)

dont get cold, means they care about you and everyone who they see. take it as a positive thing. ;) if you dont recover from cold 100% you can feel all the pain in your joints as you re getting older, this is a knowledge from our ancestors. simple as that.

Én vagyok Magyarországról és a legtöbb, amit mond, igaz VOLTAM Kanadában született, de anyám és apám ott született Magyarországon . Hungaria kultúra sokkal különbözik a kanadai kultúra, az biztos .

I am not sure how we do it In Portugal, but I personally find similar to Hungary. Hate ice in my water and prefer to blow my nose ( although never in front of people eating!) than earring people sniffling! People sniffling annoy me royally!!!

Hi I'm a Hungarian, now I watching your videos, I think the most is true. And I have an answer why we drink hot tea in the summer, as I can remember my theacher said to me if we drink hot than our body gets warmed and then our body try to cool themselves because if the body tempeture is too high is bad so thats why we drink hot drink in summer. And I think is logical. I hope is gets to you. (and sorry for my langauge I'm not too good at it.)

I visited Miami two years ago, the heat was almost unbearable, and when they served ice water in restaurants that were already pretty chilly thanks to the air conditioning, I thought my throat will just become a huge lump of ice. xD

Interesting one, and true, about the runny nose. Sniffing is considered very rude in Hungary, but oddly enough, sneezing or blowing your nose around other people, even loudly, isn't. When you do that, people will say "to your health", whereas in England sniffing is forgiveable, while you're expected to go out of the room to blow your nose and sneezing in public is also considered very rude if you can possibly avoid it - for obvious reasons: people don't want to catch your cold. In Hungary, people seem to be down with colds a lot of the time - perhaps that's one of the reasons for it? There's certainly NO attempt to prevent other people from catching your germs...
