LLM International Human Rights Law is designed for those wanting to make a positive impact in society through human rights law. As a student on the LLM course you will explore domestic, regional and international human rights systems, analysing how rights have been legalised, developed and enforced.

You will also investigate law in relation to the protection of life and human dignity, freedom from torture, freedom of expression and human rights with regard to media organisations, terrorism, healthcare, the family and disabled people.

Damarie came to Leeds from Kenya, first studying LLB Law and then progressing onto the LLM International Human Rights Law course. She is passionate about empowering others, and making the world a better place. The course has enabled her to articulate her thoughts on prevalent issues and she plans to work for a non-governmental organisation after graduation.
