Cast Away reminds me of a book I read when I was 14 called Hatchet. A story by Gary Paulsen about a 13-year-old boy who gets stranded in the mountains of Canada, also after a plane crash. Both are amazing stories that teach us the importance of never giving up, because you’ll find a blessing in disguise.

I remember seeing this trailer when I was about 6 years old. I was already a huge Tom Hanks fan and I really wanted to see it. Fantastic movie.

You see how cleverly the director shows in the movie that tom has a casio watch but he removes it in the plane and hence crashes in the island without it. I think his time and date tracking would be much easier with Casio watch by his side. Also he removed his shoes in the flight. 2 things he badly needed on that island... watch and shoes
