I revisited this classic last night, and I have to say that it's definitely stood the test of time. It's an eye opening story that breaks life down into its most basic elements. The two particularly thought provoking scenes are the ones where he finally lights a fire on the island, and similarly when he does the same thing using a lighter in a room full of stuff we all think we're entitled to.

Cast Away is and will always be my favorite movie ever. And Tom Hanks will always be my favorite actor! He is absolutely amazing and this movie made me feel every emotion possible. Amazing movie but when he returned back, he wasn't praised as much as he should be! He was a goddamn legend ffs! They should make him a statue and give him an award or something. Everyone was acting like, "well ok you made it.."

"We live or we die by the Clock" aint that sobering truth about life. I think this is one of Tom Hanks best movies. Helen Hunt was pretty good too. One thing you take from this movie is you can't take anything that is precious to you for granted like Helen Hunt character in this movie who was Tom Hanks characters wife. Tom Hanks miraculously survived but lost his wife. The movie though tragic at the end as he loses his beloved wife but alive and she started a new life believing him to have passed away, has a happy ending as he find a new partner that despite great loss life is worth living and treasure every moment with your loved ones because tomorrow they may not be there.
