Worlds biggest slavers were Arabs operating out of Zanzibar 400 AD - 1897. Took about 40 million African slaves over 15 centuries.

Another fact about slavery.

The word slavery has become defined only to represent that of the US African slave trade in the 17th century. Any further subject matter thereafter has been referred to as human trafficking, with all slavery activity pre the 17th century being convinently erased from history.

The word Slave comes from the slavic regions of eastern Europe.
