Hello! I have been made aware of something I missed out in this video. Axolotls in fact have both gills and lungs!

Good luck guys and thanks for watching! 👍

finally! so many people put them into bare bottom tanks with plastic plants and fake driftwood because "it's easy to clean" so what! you're supposed to provide the best possible life for them. which is what this dude is doing, thank you

Respect my guy, you are so educational and unlike all the other videos I've seen, you have covered all the things I needed to know 😁 you should be a top search, yet I had to do some serious searches and bullshit videos to find you.

I really appreciate your advice, you should find a producer or editer, or even try yourself to get ahead of the competition 😉.

All the best anyway, thanks 😊

Hi man, don’t see this comment as hate, just trying to help! They do get air, which isn’t strange, they have lungs and they also have gills so they sometimes choose to get air at the surface, Not weird at all! The lights are also kind of unnatural to the axo’s. They live in murky lakes in Mexico, so they don’t like lights at all! Try to put a PVC-pipe in there, you would see that the axolotl spent more time in the pipe then in the light! :) Axolotls don’t see. They are practically blind! They use their sense of movement to eat. You can see this when you put your hand in the tank, the axolotl would start to react to the movements in the water. A good food could be earthworms. Don’t feed them something else like crickets ( way to hard of a shell ). In one year, your axolotl should be pretty close to FULLY grown. ( if you feed them good foods ). Have owned them over 15 years know! Love the tank, once again, not hate, just trying to learn you something. I have been working and studying axolotls since I was 5, so I know a thing or two! :)

Although this is over a year old, I just came across it. I have 4 axolotls. One girl in a 20g by herself and three boys in their own planted set up. I usually watch Frankie's Aquatics. How is Toothless? hope all is well.

Are there small Adult species of this animal ie 6inches.?Do i have to go through a Nitrogen Cycle like Marine Tanks?I am planning on a 20-30 gallon tank and would like an Adult Pair -perhaps with a view to Breeding;Good Presentation

Can you put 3 axolotls in a 40 gallon because I've read and the Petco people told me that you start with a 20 gallon, then add 10 for each extra axolotl? I just want a second opinion, and I'm thinking of getting a 60 gallon because I've also read they each need 20 gallons. 🙏✨ thank you!

Some cherry shrimp would be great. Occasionally some would be eaten but with a planted tank like that, most would survive and breed.
