John Wilson conducts 'The King and I' Overture

The superb John Wilson Orchestra, under its highly versatile founder-conductor, is seen here in their 'Rodgers & Hammerstein' Prom concert from 2010. This Overture was just one of the many fabulous musical items that delighted the 5000-strong audience on that splendidly memorable evening in London's Royal Albert Hall.

I was a little boy when my mother, who was a single mom, took me to see the Ki g & I at the movie.theater. Even at that early age of 7, I fell in love with the music. Watching this wonderful orchestra and its Maestro conductor brings back that magical time with my mom, who is gone now. She so loved Rodgers & Hamerstein's musicals, and because of her, I do as well. I am 63 now with twin boys and I have passed on to them what Mama gave me.
