Thanks for the good review. I'm going to order the drawer option, that is something that I'm missing and will use. I ordered a couple of the Tough System 2.0 6-compartment small part organizers, which was something else my current setup was lacking.

I also am now in the same frying pan. I bought the wheeled 2.0 tool box, XL box and 2 half (clear-top) bin organizers as opposed to the set of the wheeled, medium box and small box. I wanted maximum storage from the boxes and small organizers. The durability is there for what I wanted...but I have to unstack them to get to the bottom items. I was already planning to unstack them when putting them in back of the truck due to it being heavy and unsafe. At the worksite, I'm creating a large footprint as you stated. I'm with you, with what I know now...I would have went with the dolly looking set up. Thanks for your video. Very helpful.

I went with the toughsystem because of the rack system work's perfectly in a high top or mid roof van, dewalt definitely ahead of the competition when it comes to racking.

Good review! the reason the latches on the drawers are different is because that’s from the tough system 1.0

Great review. I worked for Dewalt as a Tool Technician for 20 yrs so I am sorta a fan. I have their original mobile tool carrier that all three compartments slide open. I set it up for working on cars and home but it is limited.

I have been looking for something else especially if it has drawers. Definitely don't want to have to unstack and your review helped me decide to get the dolly system of Dewalt. Drawers, drawers is the way to go especially for wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.

Thanks, great video.

It really irked me at 9.50 when you opened the top box and it hit the trolley handle. Makes me wonder whos heading these projects 🤷. Great review btw 👍

Beforehand buying the Dewalt tough system 2.0 I did a lot of researching.
The drawers do come with system 1 & system 2.0 fastener clips. They do both look identical except for the side clips. So, any online shopping thats selling the drawers needs to be contacted to make sure you get the drawers with the 2.0 clips or else they'll send you the cheaper clip version system 1.
There are 2 DS carriers & the differences are the wheel colour gray or black, I got the black wheels which look more robust with the measurements on the side bars to make sure the singing arms are at the same height. the other wheels are gray & some of them do not have the measurements for the swing Arms. I'm unsure why this is. Could be a manufacturers choice.
The tough system tote has not got the 2.0 clips but I've been told you can change the clips to 2.0! Not did that yet but I'll try it.
Both systems 1 & 2.0 are compatible but 2.0 is far more robust & boxes are larger.
There are clear lid organisers with small bins for your nails that fit into the dewalt nail belt pockets, just take the whole bin shove it into one of your dewalt nail belt pockets and off you go.
The nail belts come with their own yellow plastic bins similar to the clear lid organiser bins, It all depends on the style of the dewalt nail belt you have that makes it all work. The nail belt pockets are massive and can be detached sat to the side or hung up so you can can connect different styles of pockets with different bins or ones with different tools. Some of the nail belt pockets come with carrying handles so you can set them up with gear and sit them to the side ready for when you want to grab them and attach them to your nail belt.
It's the best & fattest system I've ever used, no more hunting around for a certain size of nail, its already in the bin & ready to be swapped out + you have the impact driver with your nailgun hanging on the belt with your othe tools + spare batteries clipped to it
You do not want to climb back down to get to your van for stuff, no need, its all with you and your hands are free to climb or carry different loaded pockets.
The harness with the 5 inch padded belt & all the different accessories that attach to the system is awesome for working in remote parts far from your van.
The tough system 2.0 & the full harness nailbelt system is costly but its a time saver & in the long run actually saves you money & time when your set up to do particular jobs correctly.
It'll save you hours of frustrated walks back to you van for stuff cause everything will be kept in your tough system & nail belt system. Use the Ds carrier to hang your nail pouches til you get to the job.
Do a check list & you'll be good 👍
Sandwiches hot water flask biscuits, tools, fixings, batteries, radio, chargers, generator, ppe, off you go.

It's July, been trying to make up my mind since Jan which to buy. 2 packout drawers was ¾" too tall for my service body, so tough system it is. This was a much better carrier video than others. Thank you.

The drawers are from the Toughsystem 1 which has the latch on the back. The other cases are from the Toughsystem 2 in which they eliminated the rear latch. There are similar rolling cases from the system 1 that also have the rear latch, but they are being phased out. Yet to see if DW comes out with a TS2 drawer case.

Bought the DS carrier instead of the wheeled box set a bit over a month ago.

Then suddenly had to move out of my apartment and having that right at hand was a huge lifesaver.

It doesn't look too difficult to drill some holes and install hooks that latch into the DS carrier on the back of the 2.0 boxes. You could even take the hook off the 1.0 boxes. Add a gasket for waterproofing and it seems like it would work to me.

Nice review, appreciate the insight and the demonstrations of how the systems work. Been debating 3-4 different brands and seems like all have pros and cons. Anyway, thanks!

I'm surprised there are not more people reviewing this ds carrier. It looks great.

What I want Dewalt to make is rolling drawer system with a big drawer to hold large tools a medium size drawer than a large two drawer medium sized 2 drawer and a large 3 drawer and medium 3 drawer and small 3 drawer, if they come out with that the regular boxes will stay home and the drawer system comes for the ride

DeWALT with the DS carrier is far superior than any other system. Who wants to remove every box to get to the bottom box

Thanks for the insight. I just bought the 3-piece packout set and am fairly happy with it, especially for the value, but the built in bottom box is a bit of a PITA for all the reasons you stated. This seems like something I'll have to consider further.

I agree with your assessment on Dewalt. I pretty much use all brands: Mil, Del, Rig. I started with Rig large tool boxes, then I added the Mil setup ($1, 000). I do like Delwalt tool boxes, but there are a few annoying designs that I don’t like. Stuff like the one you mentioned about the lid not up. I bought a Dewalt large tote with wheel 1 month ago. I do like it as stand alone, but I want to add the Dewalt drawer. I prefer the compact size over the Mil drawer, which I think it is a bit heavy.

But for functionality, I do the like Mil innovation more. Even simple stuff like lid staying up was well though. Right Mil Packout is really hard to beat.

It’s be great if they made the bottom cart on the original system and big drawer instead. Then you can always use it regardless of what’s stacked on top. All the other bins on tops I find I can still flip open enough to get stuff out if the cart handle is dropped down.
