New DeWALT TOUGHSYSTEM 2.0 Storage Boxes ARE NOT WHAT I EXPECTED (is this serious?) In this video we go over some brand new storage and organizer boxes from DeWALT's new line of toughsystem 2.0 organization platform. This is a brand new 3 piece stack with a new and improved rolling base box with bigger wheels and a removable handle, a medium sized storage box that features an IP65 rated gasket and patented side latches, a small organizer top box with removable organizer trays. We have had the toughsystem 2.0 radio/charger since it was released on last years black Friday holiday season, we want to test if it is compatible with all the new boxes and if the new 2.0 tough system boxes are compatible with the original tough system. These new storage options from DeWALT are not what I expected and I seriously can't believe the quality and customizability with toughsystem 2.0! Let us know your thoughts and experiences with new DeWALT toughsystem 2.0 storage boxes in the comments section below.

What we really need is a system for storing power tools in a repeatable way. The problem with these bins is that they are just hyped up stackable Tupperware. It keeps the tools 'safe' from just sliding around the back of your pickup truck but a regular Tupperware bin could do that. If I have a Dewalt drill, impact driver, hammer drill, circular saw, jig saw, sawsall, narrow crown stapler, framing nailer, I still have to simply lay them in a HEAP at the bottom of these bins. This doesn't keep them neat, orderly and safe. If they truly want to be at the TOP of the game. They need to have inserts for these bins or some sort of internal racking system. So I can put all of these tools in the same spot EVERY time. This means a spot for the drill, driver, hammer drill, a spot for the circular saw, etc. You want to be able to get to a jobsite and within minutes of getting to the right spot being able to start a job? Right now with these bins, sure i can get to the location but I still have to sift through the mess I made at the bottom to get what I need. Sure, for those of us that are highly organized you can create your own system but then lets not even talk about sharing this system on the jobsite, then you are talking a real soup of cords, batteries, bits, tools, etc. Long story short, this system doesn't begin to start solving the main problem tool owners have and that is storing these in a way that is more efficient.

The fact that they listen to their customers will keep them in the game I love it! I personally only buy Milwaukee and Makita but for a toolbox this might be a better affordable option

I have the DS Carrier, and wall mount. I don’t have Dewalt tools, and probably never will, but they really knew what they were doing with this system! This shelf like system means much to me, and my organization!

Just purchased this 3 stack rolling cart and its seriously changed how efficient I am at jobs now! My entire daily cordless collection fits in the bottom box including 15 batteries

Just bought the 2.0 a week or so ago and absolutely love it. I used to use the husky stackable which was absolutely trash compared to the 2.0. Also when I ordered my box I order the regular 3 stack box and they sent me a extra one of the small boxes so definitely happy

had my toughsystem set for almost 2 years . i'm a mostly harry home owner type now but i still do a few side jobs here and there and these boxes have done well for me . they look cool/professional and help keep my stuff mostly organized . more than i really need at this point, but it sure would have been nice to have these back in the day . take care .

I’m a Packout guy, picked the 1.0 up last week as one of Home Depot’s deal off the day. I like it so far!

One huge mistake Milwaukee made with their boxes is there’s a ton of wasted space. The clear lid screw bins are bigger on the outside will having less space on the inside. They’re way tougher but that’s a big deal breaker for me. Something Dewalt needs to fix with the dolly box is the wheels aren’t bolted on, they just have a press fit cap that falls off.

I have both packout and ts 2.0. Both are outstanding, packout has the edge but for the price dewalt is an awesome option!

It's nice that the 1.0 and the 2.0 are compatible as far as the locking goes. In the past the consumer has been stuck with what they have. With this system it's easy to mix and match.

Great video! Thank you! I purchased the Dewalt Toughsystem 2.0 wheeled bottom box and two of the 1/2 boxes for my current load out.. could not figure out for the life of me HOW the handle REMOVED to place in a truck with a tonneau cover…. Instructions? Didn’t say. Home Depot employee didn’t know. Only 1 DeWalt bottom box in stock. So bought it.. So YES! Red locks at the bottom! Hey you just saved me a 60 mile round trip to Home Depot to try to exchange and or return the box! Yes, my handle comes off now…. Thank you!

@VCG Construction. Thanks Vince for the thorough review. What makes your review video different is that other people don't have a 2.0 radio or a DS Carrier for testing. It's too bad Dewalt didn't make the 2.0 boxes totally compatible with the DS carrier with that rear bracket. Even if we don't padlock the central locking mechanism, using that mechanism is added security in keeping the boxes secured to the carrier when moving.

Hope you and your family stay safe and well.

Very informative video. Thanks for pointing out important details like some incompatibility with he power station and the Radio on the DS carrier.

They should have put drawer slides on the carrier, and racks so mid - small sizes boxes could slide forward to be opened with out removing the module

Just drove an hour and a half to grab one of the 2.0 boxes. Shed was broken into and they got a couple of things. So in my journey in replacing them it seems this is a great option to grab as well. Never understood how great a system like this could be until recently. Happy with the purchase for sure.
