I have sometimes severe asthma. I always have Ventolin in my pocket and a course of Prednisone in the fridge. It's heap, it's easy to take and it has save my life more than once. Bear in mind; I have glaucoma the drug boosts my inter ocular presser by a lot. It increases my heart rate and my blood pressure. It comes down to "how badly do you want to breath?"

This medicine was being used my Fabunan in the Philippines way before the UK started conducting trials with it. The main issue Fabunan had was getting it patented for testing and accepted by WHO and the DOH.

I had the corona in late Feb. I was treated for Severe Upper Respitory Infection. Steroid shot and a zpack. 2 days later I was good.

So Giving Steroids to a ventilated Viral patient is pretty much standard of care, so I don't see how this is special at all. Id be more shocked if all these patients weren't getting steroids.

I can't understand why they didn't know this sooner. Corona mimics pneumonia...treatment for pneumonia is steroids....I know I've had both. So why they wouldn't make this connection sooner I don't know.

I don't understand why this is news? The reason I say that is because I have worked in the pharmacy for over 12 years and I can tell you for sure steroids are commonly prescribed to people suffering from lung and breathing issues. I would be shocked if a doctor didn't prescribe a steroid like prednisone or deximethasone for someone trying to recover from a respitory illness.

Again depends on the underlying condition, covid itself isn't deadly but could worsen the underlying health condition
