That's B.S., the Ewoks worship 3P0 and love him.
If anything, that's one of 3P0's better moments.
He's finally getting recognition for his talents after being bullied and neglected for so long.

Of you ask me, the worst 3P0 moment in the Saga is a tossup between getting his head swapped with a CGI Battle Droid in Episode 2 and Saying "They Fly now!" in Episode 9.
