Unique full characters with full support dialog and art that you can only get if you think to capture them

Thank you Haitaka, for all the chapter 10 rallies... and for baiting Hana out of her hiding spot at the very small cost of your life. Your services won't be forgotten, Sir.

Also generics soldiers with crazy abilities. My favorite are the rando mirms and mekkanists with L&D, they're awesome for dual strikes!

Could’ve been a great mechanic if it was more explored and wasn’t just Niles or Orochi who can capture. If they die on your run, the mechanic basically doesn’t exist

Man, what I wouldn't give for a Capture mechanic for characters as how you recruit characters... we've had a handful of bosses you've had to beat before recruiting, or avoid killing until they join you... capture would be a fun way of giving extra life to the mechanic.

Doing a run in CQ (hard) with only captured units. Kumagera in particular is awesome. It's brutally hard though because there is a real gap in how strong the capture units are compared to the CQ cast, with a few exceptions.

It sucks Candice was only available through this way. She should've been an actual unit.

It would’ve been a really cool way to recruit mauvier of Marnie in engage! Like make certain characters able to join your cause through something like this

I've always considered the sad fact you can't recruit Zola with this ability. Imagine if he was recruited in Birthright, so you'd save him before Garon kills him. Or maybe even take him in Conquest, showing him a better side of Nohr. I dunno, it just feels off you can't.

imagine if theyd made it so depending on who was captured you might not be able to convert them but instead be given an option of being part of an interrogation where you give them the option to work for you but they refuse and tell you to kill them or free them, then you either see an execution scene or they return as an enemy unit a couple battles later

It would be cool if certain captures weren't just generics but got support conversations, too, or maybe helped in certain ways in certain chapters, like knowing a secret back entrance or being able to open a dam and block off movement for ground-based enemies to a few choke points.

Fates has such a fun sandbox to play around in.

I loved the capture mechanic. I didn’t know they could also learn more skills on level up. So I’ve just been using captured units for mongol meat shield tactics cause I have mostly cav and they die to beast killers. Need to make sacrifices

I captured a General renamed him. And apparently when you restart the game you captures are still there so I had a Generic General go the whole story on Perma Death mode

Lowkey had a headcanon idea to an alternate "Heir of Fates" where it was only the Prisoner Units and former Generics left to stop Anankos. Did a whole run surrounding it and turned all of the Unique Capture units into even more Monstrous gigachads through Unit Logbook shenanigans.

Maybe something like, depending on which bosses you capture, other characters or other bosses join or atack you
Or maybe even have different endigs if, for example, the boss in chapter 7 kills one important character if you don't recruit him
