Be careful with this. Good practise is to NOT do all that at once. A lot of people crash their cycle by doing this as you take out all the bacteria needed for the nitrogen cycle!

Also. If you have fish in the tank. Never change 100% of the water. Usually a 20-30% water change is enough

I usually drain the water first,

Then using a brush I clean the algae on the glass( above water level) as that way it no longer goes in the water, just keep cleaning the brush if it gets too much algae on it by dipping it in the drained water.

Last thing I do is clean the filters with the drained water in a bucket, sponge filters won't clean the algae mixed turbid water so quick hence relying on them during tank cleaning has negligible benefits..

Would it be easier to take some of the old water out of the tank relocate the fish temporarily completely clean and refill the tank with the same temperature water and put the fish beck in?
