@1:33 in the video, it's not made very clear but the two pins being measured are the two (of four total) that are on the edges of the connector. Also: don't touch the metal outer rim of the connector!

That proves voltage. What about the amps. Some 5 v, 2.1 amp chargers say 3 hours to charge no matter what cord is used.

How do I check current of USB power supply as claimed by many companies? They claim 5Vdc 3A, how can I know the device really can provide 3A?

1. My battery registers 2.8 (the battery is rated at 3.85). In my experience that still means not good. True?
2. I tested the battery charger leads in the battery bay while the phone was plugged in to the wall. It registered 0.01 to 0.03. The phone is still good? (at least the charging leads)

Checked my apple charger with a multimeter and it is showing 5.1v The lightening bolt symbol appears over the battery but the ipad still does not charge. The lightening cable is new and the port that it plugs into on the ipad is clean. Funny thing is, the ipad charges with a basic wall charger not designed by apple. I can only think there must be something else wrong with my apple charger.

How did you did not get a shock? Its a 5V + 2 Amps. its 10 WATT. You touched the hot pin and also touched the Neutral. You are completing the circuit. Please explain.
