When I met her what struck me first was how tiny she was because we always think of her as a giant! Then I was struck by how gorgeous she was face to face. And then how soft-spoken she was, how nice, and I felt I was not speaking to a diva or a superstar but someone who clearly was the daughter of a scholar, a teacher. I was a teacher myself, Jewish myself and I always thought if by some miracle I met her I would be starstruck. Instead, I realized in that moment she may be the greatest star but more important than that she is a lady of substance, character and warmth.
