1:00 if a mangonel hit a shrivamsha rider it would soak up all the splash damage and it wouldn't damage any of the units nearby. That's just one example, but it felt like a bug with how it worked

For the Cavalry Archer:

Cavalry Archer without Parthian Tactics is unchanged.
Cavalry Archer with Parthian Tactics does two less damage to halbs.
Heavy Cavalry Archer without Parthian Tactics does two more damage to halbs.
Heavy Cavalry Archer with Parthian Tactics is unchanged.

Ooh, I feel like Porto's team bonus of shared LOS was pretty unique to them. Every time I think of that civ, I think of that bonus right away. It's not very strong, but it's kinda part of their identity I think.

Portuguese trickle bonus equals to 247, 5 wood on a standard arabia map. Consider that you get the resources in dark age and feudal age, it is pretty good. Amazing for fast archer rush. I reckon it might bring Portuguese to an above average civ

No need to apologize for hiding twitch chat - those guys are a bunch of weirdos

@Hera Isn't the Portuguese team bonus (since the shared line of sight is now default), too OP? All tech 25% faster for the team seems quite big.

I'm pretty sure the CA is a nerf. PT goes from +4 against spear to +2 and heavy CA get that +2 so in the end it's the same. You just get the extra attack after a different upgrade

Chakram is an over nerf, but Gujaras needed something I guess. I don't like the vision change making the market optional in team games. It was an important decision when map vision was worth 300 resources.

im guessing with srim rider if they took a direct hit from something that deals additional splash damage to nearby units and the hit was blocked by their broken dodge ability, it also blocked the splash damage to adjacent units too. Does this fix them being able to turn off TC's with just a handful of them mixed in with knights though?

So basically they buffed Ballista Ellies vs Leitis and units with Wootz Steel.

Hey Hera, just so you know the August balance patch is still the first video that pops up on your YouTube homepage, thought you may want to switch it to this video

Portuguese new team bonus might the strongest team bonus in the game

delighted to know Poles, Hindustanis and Gurjaras are finally getting nerfed a little bit. feels like about 1/2 of the games I'm playing on the ladder are against one of these civs, and it's getting tiresome

Chakrams are a skirm that does pass through damage. I think they will still be great. If you have 30 of them, you are going to be dealing 30-60 damage to multiple units

They're on the right track, but agreed, not enough!

I like the trickle of gold element when collecting other resources but I would make them a Castle Age tech for certain civilisations so they can get the bonus but have to pay for it. It would make it something they have to actually invest in to get, and might be a good option for the later game.

Burgundians already have (at least had) Burgundian Vineyards but I would add some to other civilisations based on their history and region:

Saracens >>> Lebanese Cedar Wood. Wood provides a 20% - 30% gold trickle.
Italians >>> Carraro Marble >>> Stone provides a 20%-30% gold trickle.
Vikings/Japanese could have one where fish traps or fishing ships provide a wood trickle. Useful for water maps such as islands in the later game when wood might become scarce.

It is a good thing that chakrams aren't good at fighting heavy cavalry, the do need at least one weakness, plus it is covered by the better camels.

Chakrams, I believe, are intended to counter infantry and die to cavalry as you already have an insane camel-line to fight mounted units hence the nerf in their damage. That's my guess.

I think they intended Chakrams to be a counter to mass infantry which Gurjaras struggle against. Before this they could be used to kill everything. This changes it.
