You've just confirmed a 20 year old theory and argument of mine.
Back when I was about 7 my gran showed me how to make crisps (chips), my favorite and only flavour that I would eat was salt and vinegar. My child mind didn't think you could just purchase said seasoning so I thought about how to make it. I said you mix salt with vinegar, then add to crisps! My two older brothers who were 17 & 20 at the time laughed and said no but the vinegar will ruin the crisps as they'll be wet. My response was: not if you let it dry out first. My know it all brother said that the vinegar would evaporate as it dried and therefore no point.

I've just sent them this with a huge 'I effing told you so, 20 years ago. My 7 Yr old mind was right. Told you I was smart!' The 'smart' jibe is an inside joke. So thank you for putting to bed a dormant but not concluded argument.

For those too young to understand why this is kind of significant, we didn't have 'internet' that has been common for the last 15 years or so. We also didn't have 'amazon' so we had to make do with what we could see and buy from shops. No such thing as online shopping really existed! Dial up speed meant no 'quick Google' to check; Back in the days of free AOL cds and AOL chat x

I’ve started cutting down eating chips from the stores and made homemade chips just like this. It’s abit on the healthier side since you can make it from scratch. This is one of favorite recipes to make chips❤️

Guilty pleasure is that I LOVE chips. But processed chips make me sick rather than making it myself.
