Take Away: This is a dumb shot, take the safety. Use top English and hit the 8 as thin as possible, with enough speed to bring the cue to the rail by the 6 ball. The 8 should only pop out about 3-4cm. Your opponent will only win if they can break out the 1 and 8 during the 6 ball shot. If they miss the breakout, odds are they will give you an open shot at the 8 after they try for the 1 ball.
