I can do the same thing by using Ableton Live. No controler needed, no special format needed, no marketing needed.
Also live is more flexible.

This I like a lot. The synthesizer has evolved a lot since the 70's but playing them has basically stayed the same. This is ONE great way but I also imagine software in combination with this, maybe on a big screen iPad. Maybe moving around objects for sound synthesis instead of the constant editing of oscillators, filters, LFOs and envelopes, etc.

Also, all you haters need to relax.  I, for one, played on vinyl for a long-ass time, but have been waiting to be able to DJ like this since I first imagined it 15 years ago.  Also also, there's nothing to stop you from using timecode vinyl to control a Stem deck (at least from what I've read), which is exactly what I plan to do.

"Until now"? What is the new way to mix? Looks like stems are good old stems that have been long available as remix packs. Will they start selling pop music in stems format? How many stem tracks? Britney Spear's remix stems pack has like 15 stems for vocals and a plenty for instruments.
