STEM VS STEREO MASTERING 🥊

This is something that all producers should do 👨🏻‍💻

If you’re not doing this already, make it a new habit!

When you are exporting your track as a stereo file

Also bounce out the grouped stems

This way you will be future proofing your tracks

If somebody wants to remix it,

You want to master it as a stem master,

You want to replace just the drums,

Or you lose the whole session somehow…

You’ll be able to work around this as you have all the stems 👍🏻

THE PROFESSOR!! SAVING U THE AGONY of a lost project..Learned this the hard way years ago....NOWADAYS I include a stem export in every project file. Its a folder inside the folder I mark "group stems".. Excellent advise Professor Streaky... #STREAKYACADEMY #MIXINGandMASTERING #EQNINJA #AREYOUBEINGSERVEDVIEWER

Well done streaky and thanks for all you do. Please, how do you bounce group stems?

Can you show how to do that vocoder thing a lot of hit songs have where the vocoder is backing vocals and super wide. It's in a lot of maroon 5 and The Weeknd songs

Yeah, cool right? It'll also fill up that leftover terabyte of your storage in no time, just in case you already didn't care enough about space.

Streaky can you make a short about how you approach using dithering in your bounce phase? Do you only dither on the final bounce? Do you recommend clients render stems with no dithering? Thanks for what you do
