Some are definitely just saying just get the MPC alone or a Key 37, but having sounds from another manufacturer running through the MPC is another level, versus just using the Akai sounds. Don’t be afraid to step it up to be outstanding. Great video. Great combination.

Idk know if you bought your Fantom S new, but I too in 2005 bought a Fantom X8 on sale at Guitar Center on Labor Day (they had a very good sale going) and it cost me $2396 on sale. The MPC 1000 was on sale for $799. You probably bought the X also, not the S.

In any case, that was a lot of money back then, and this setup of the MPC One and Juno D would blow that X8 + MPC 1000 out the water for a lot less money. Thank you Technology!!!!

I recently picked up the MPC One +, being a long-time Maschine loyalist, and I love it.

This is just as good for seasoned veterans as it is for beginners to be honest. Great video.

I used to use my Fantom-06 with an original black MPC One a couple of years ago as a secondary small portable setup. It was a nice setup, and the two instruments worked well together.

However, I have since replaced my MPC One with an MPC Key-37 + Fabric Collection (which I use as standalone) and I now use my Fantom-06 as part of my other much larger midi hardware setup.

I think it's a good combination. I have a verselab mv1 (zencore sound) and 3 synth modwave, minifreak and mininova.

Zencore sound from roland is very very gooooddd!!!

Brother you are a real man, you kept your word and got the keyboard ✊🏾🙏🏾. I’ve been interested in getting started and this surely helps.

Spot on. What makes This set up more enhanced than just an MPC key 37 is that you get not only more sounds but GREAT sounds. More options to enhance your creativity. Also the MPCs limit how many plug in tracks you can use on hard ware where I believe you can have more flexibility with an additional keyboard.

Let me add that you can def make hits with that setup.

Let me add again lol I just traded in the MPC one plus for the key 61. The one plus is a Great machine. Not gonna lie, something about having a box shape MPC and a Roland keyboard that is just top tier

Man Bolo. Been looking at the Juno-D6 since it was announced. Been trying to hold out for the Fantom 6 EX but I might have to cop this in the meantime!

Juno D6 is great for the money. I'd pair it with the MPC 37 and feel pretty confident about it. (if I had a standalone set up)

with the Juno being class compliant audio interface you could you use a USB for both audio and midi and run one set of cables to you audio interface?

What about the Akai mpc key 37? Would that be a good start for a beginner. Like myself

Just to double tap on the card speeds; it is veeerrry important to use at a minimum a UHS 3 rated card (30MB/sec) but preferably a V30, 60 or 90 rated card which are commonly used for video recording. Slower cards are ok for backups.

If you're on a budget, the MPC Key 37 is where it's at. You don't need an external keyboard or workstation.
