Great video. I used to go to Hop Kee for lunch on weekends when I was living in NYC 3 decades ago.

Great tips. I was always hesitant to do it, and always giving up. I should have been more patient.

if you haven't eaten at Hop Kee...it's great. Ive eaten there as recently as last week. Home in So-Cal now...and could dine there again!! Nice night shooting video.

Nice video! I would argue to rather go higher on the ISO, modern cameras have no problem shooting at 3200, 6400, 12800 or even higher. As you've said, it's easy to correct for the noise in Lightroom. However if you want to brighten your image post you kind of lose colour information in the shadows if you've taken it underexposed. Bright neon lighting is still kind of easy to shoot. But if there's less light no worries to up the ISO all the way :) I found myself taking night photos which looked good on the bright camera screen in a dim environment, but wanting to brighten them afterwards by 2 or 3 stops.

Hey Sean - what camera are you using for your POV shots?

In fact, I'm a Chinese person in China, experiencing the intense summer heat, while watching an American taking photos in a chilly Chinatown. It's really quite amusing.

Damn! How do you guys such sharp images? You braver than I am. I wouldn’t walk around New York during the day let alone at night. Did you say 1/60 or 1/16 ?

Nah tripods will be history soon. Personal gimbal drones will follow us around, and another to carry our gear. Or just better sensors, in the short term.
