I remember when I visited Bali as a kid we were eating mangostene and other fruits and a giant rat came out of nowhere and ran out the door of the hotel room it was very funny.

There was a fun fact about the name of this fruit I read from the book when I was kid.
In the past when foreigner visited Thailand, he was asking the fruit merchant what is this. Merchant didn't understand what he said and just tell the name of this fruit.
Merchant: Mang-kood.
Foreigner: Mango?
Merchant: Mang-kood.
Foreigner: Mango?
Repeat few time
Merchant frustrated: Mango son teen goo ni.
It translate like "Mango my ass" but in Thai language we use the word "teen" when swearing that's meaning foot instead of ass.

That's how the name of this fruit was born. ̶M̶a̶n̶g̶o̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶a̶s̶s̶. Mangosteen.
