The first time I heard If You Want I was 15 years old in 1990, I recorded the song from a local alternative radio station in Mexico that transmitted an old 1984 BBC DM concert. I fantasized all the time with the idea of being there in the stage, performing this mysterious industrial song. Years later I bought Live In Hamburg in VHS and finally met the stage, the hardware, that Alan was in fact singing the whole song with Dave. This tune reinforced my love for DM and Alan Wilder.

Alan should’ve been the third lead singer in the band. Does anyone else think that he tends to sound similar to Dave, especially in this song, and at other times like Martin?

He was the best looking, coolest, & funniest guy in the band most of the time.

I wish that they would’ve treated him better & with more gratitude back then. If they did, then he might still be in the band now.
