Today we check out the Alien Gear Photon holster for the Glock 43X MOS

I got a photon from Alien Gear's store front in Idaho. They did tell me the glock mags require the double stack due to the polymer. My 43 mag fits very well in the double stack side car.

Great great great holster. And great price. I have one for my Glock17 Gen 5. I don’t have any issues with my sidecar mag carrier for my double stock mags

Great video! Yea you need the other mag holster. It’s a double stack mag carrier. I ordered me one yesterday.

Great detailed review of the holster. I have a 43x with a compensater. I have the Recover Tactical rail with the Tlr7 sub light. Do you think it would work with that setup?

I had to get the double stack mag carrier for my 43x. It seems like they might have a stack and a half mag carrier but I didn’t see it. I love that it doesn’t have hot spots at all. I carry in the appendix rig set up

It works with a g43x without out a light I just had to tighten it up

So I have the same set up, minus the light. As for the mag carrier, I had to take it apart and use a dremmel to smooth down the ridges inside the carrier. Now, the 43x mag fit, but will work its way up and out of the carrier and could if not noticed, fall to the ground. Ditch the carrier, they just wont work for the 43x mag properly. As for the holster, its great other than marring up the grip which wouldn't be noticeable with an all blk weapon. If you have a fde frame, it does leave blk scuffs marks on the grip and frame which will wipe off. I give the holster a big thumbs 👍's up, but the mag carrier thumbs down 👎.

I bought one from bass pro and returned it the same day. For some reason mine did not click into place, all the retention came from adding a lot of pressure into the light. When I would draw my gun there would be marks and scratches on the light where the holster was adding pressure to retain it. Kind of like what happened in the video with your mags but with the actual holster for the gun.

Didn’t like the holster at all returned and picked up a mission 1st holster with magnetic retention and it’s about same price it’s way better.

I bought the same holster for my Glock 43x with streamlight TLR-7 Sub but I'm not very happy with the adjustment screws. The holster is scratching the flashlight, if I loosen the screws so as not to scratch the flashlight and place the gun upside down, the gun comes out of the holster, if I tighten it a little bit so the gun does not fall from the holster but scratches the flashlight on the side and enters with difficulty. Any tips?
