On Florida's West Coast, the death toll has reached the double digits as rescuers comb through the wreckage, looking for any sign of life. There are at least 21 deaths likely caused by the hurricane. As many as 10,000 people in southwest Florida are still unaccounted for. Anchor Vic Micolucci joins us live via Zoom from Fort Myers this morning.

Spent a summer in the early 70s in Fort Meyers Beach when a kid. Beautiful place. So sad. My grandfather stayed to ride out one hurricane. I think it was Camille. He would never say anything about it except never again.

She repeats “DOUBLE DIGITS” in a creepy tone and has a red dress on and acts almost like she’s happy with her News “CASTING”

I’m so glad that iPad was able to get it’s professional journalist to read the story off it with minimal stammering.

Thanks for the footage. Would like more footage going slower . We've been coming to Ft. Myers Beach for over 45 years from Indiana. This is so heartbreaking for all. Hoping all can be rebuilt quickly.

What is making this so much different is hurricane Ian is changing the landscape in that area of FL. Past hurricanes did make damage, but Land was still intact and not submerged in water as new body of water, To rebuild there means to rebuild what was once there holding foundations to all structures on it, 😞

10, 000 people unaccounted for? Is this reporter out of her mind?

Quite frankly my impression is, given that it was hit head on as a 4, damage was minimal and limited to the beach front. South west Florida is exclusively rich residential neighborhoods.
