It's a shame that larger companies sometimes adopt the 'throwaway' approach, which is anything but feasible for a craftsmanship working on a smaller scale. My employer's, for example, spend £30 a time on Trend cutters, only to bin them when they're blunt (and that's when they don't break). A previous employer used to use Titman cutters and have them frequently sharpened by a company in Taunton.

Thanks for sharing your collection, Jez and I'm sure your student learned a valuable lesson that may not be available on other courses.
