I’m a white cis male, so I probably shouldn’t be weighing in on this, but here goes: How is it 2022 and this is still an issue? You have Fenton Beauty doing Gods work, not only making a wide range available but affordable, but no one else is stepping up? And what surprises me is that there are no lines (to my knowledge) coming out of African countries where dark tones are the norm. From strictly a business standpoint, dark completions are a HUGE untapped market, and should be capitalized on. I wish I had the knowledge and resources to make a good quality range.

This is so unacceptable. I'm pale af so I focus on the other end of the shades when purchasing, but since coming across your channel I'm far more aware of the lack of shades on the dark end. While I am limited myself (not nearly to the extent you are) I'm now trying to shop brands and lines that are more inclusive if at all possible.

My girlfriend has two sisters, one of them is albino ( Gene from grandma) so she has no problem finding foundation, and the other one only has makeup from Fenty beauty because she can't find any foundation in her color anywhere else

It’s also what the buyers for those stores orders, because I know there’s better range with some of these brands. My family works in retail grocery and this is a thing, stores buyers told not to spend money on the darkest complexion shades and I’m sick of the racist bs

Side note, why does Walmart feel the need to lock up the most unnecessary things 😂

Ok so I learned recently that in store that store picks what shades they want to sell. They don’t have every shade. I’m sure they still don’t have dark enough shades. But it could be the store rather than the brand. Regardless all brands need to make lighter and darker shades. No one is the exact same so brands need to literally make 100+ shades. What about pur? They did 100 shades.

yes, I agree sm with TONE INCLUSIVTY there are SOOO many companies that make shades for people with red under tones but not cooler and darker tones they need to be more away of tones not just shades

I REALLY hate it, also. My mom (same complex) gets a better chance in drugstores because she has a red undertone…ME?!! Peachy 🍑 Golden AF!! 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ Imagine my afterschool work checks in the 80/90s ALLLL going to Department store counters…

Lol, I moved to Texas recently and just learned that Walmart has to lock up their makeup. Idk what is going on, but where I was before they never had to lock up the makeup before. Shit is wild over here I guess.

Anyways video-wise I hope these brands step up their game. They are sold at stores that are supposed to provide to everyone easily and at a good price, for everyday people, but they just decide to completely exclude a group of people. This is so wrong.

Wow... do u live in the states? If so, which one? I've never seen everything locked up like that?

The wet n wild foundation is straight up disrespectful. That tired line “well black women don’t wear makeup/foundation.” Well sir if there were foundation for our skin tone we would be buying that shit up how can we buy something that isn’t suited for us…that don’t make no damn sense

Have you ever been able to mix your own foundation that matched you? Like with the LA Girl foundation correctors?

You should see the shades they leave here in African countries.
Worse for those in tropical regions

I'd say the reason is space. I'd say in some people's minds there's only space for certain shades
