The original version illustrates the disgust and horror of war/terrorism as this version gives power to the pain and sorrow it causes. Both versions are beautiful in their own way. Never thought I would see the day someone could cover this song so amazingly. Ms. Sykes is ludicrously talented!

She actually gives me chills. The sorrow on her voice and the power behind every note was just gorgeous.

A beautiful rendition of a sad Irish song. I come back to listen in bad times. These are bad times :(

You can feel the emotion in this cover. She made it her own, and delivered it in a powerful way. There are a few good covers, and this one nailed it. Miss you, Dolores.

I'm not ashamed to admit I teared up and got chills. Speaks volumes not only to the original band, but what is going on our world today. Thank you, Post Modern Jukebox. You did this song more than justice ♥️♥️

Absolutely LOVED the way the trumpet subtly played off the vocals. What a great arrangement/performance.

I really love how this one has more lament than the original. As others said, the original was outrage at the conflict, but this is the mourning that follows it. I didn't even make it to the first chorus before I started to tear up. This will always be one of the most important songs in my life, it made me want to write music, and this is hands down my favorite take on it.

The muted trumpet adds so much to a remarkable arrangement and spectacular vocal.

it's like she's singing and at the same time praying for the war to stop. Praying for peace on everyone's heart coz in the end we're all end up loosing those people that we love the most.

Just looking at the concentration on the vocalists face before she started singing I knew I was going to listen to something very special, and I wasn't disappointed! I'm a massive Cranberries fan and I imagine that Dolores o'Riodan would look down from heaven and smile in appreciation of this performance.

I can't express in words how much I love this woman's voice.

Dolores O'Riordan sang with outrage at war conflict . Maiya Sykes sang as mother's lament at war conflict. No comparison is needed.

I have waited 58 years for this genre. The combination of Wood, Brass, Ivory/Ebony, and pure genius of arrangement is not lost on me. It is like the cornucopia of musical grace, sound and vibration come alive here in all of these arrangements. i can't stop listening to the entire mix, I am glued to my Laptop, waiting to see what next angelic song will come next. The voices of these ladies are incredible, without peers. How it all comes together is enlightening. Thank you for sharing this. I know it is over-dramatic, but as a musician myself, it adds so much pleasure, so much need to go forth and copy, and engross myself with this new style and see what I can do with other songs. "Oh no, I have said too much", but once again. THANK YOU

This is the first cover I’ve heard that come close to capturing the haunting emotion of the original. Absolutely beautiful

Cameron Johnson on Trumpet ... that sad, forlorn note just rips into you ... then she belts out that pain at full force .... Magnificent.

I never thought the way she sings would tear my heart and made me cried. While the original one will always gives me the same haunting vibe where it building the rage in me to stand up for ones who greatly suffered…this one gives me the chill like i was lamenting for a long time on such “experience” first hand. Both versions are so beautiful-

At first I hit play and just shrugged, thinking it was just a slowed down version the original. And then the vocals really kicked in. Holy hell, that's a powerful cover.
